Tigger & Pooh – How to teach a child about echo?

I like Darby, her dog Buster, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. They are the Super Sleuths, who tell us that for every problem there is a solution.

Do you know what an echo is? Well I do!

I was watching Tigger and Pooh. The Piglet is stuck in a cave.  And Roo needs help in getting his stuck kite from the tree. Every episode makes problem solving an adventure.

From Darby I learn that to solve mysteries and obstacles, all you need to do is to THINK.

Now, an echo! An echo is a reflection of sound.

Darby, the six year old (I am 6 too) explains it nicely saying think about throwing a ball. If you throw at a wall, it will bounce back.

That is what happens to the sound. It bounces back and we hear an echo.

One of my favourite things to do when I am at my aunt Ama’s place is to stand in the balcony and shout.

Because there are tall buildings all around, I hear echoes of my voice.

Also, sometimes it is nice to sing rhymes and hear it bounce back at your.

Ama also explains that the noise I make in the balcony or the hallway while waiting for the lift is the sound wave reflected off a distant object or reflected off walls.

Coming back to my friends, I like Darby, her dog Buster, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. They are the Super Sleuths, who tell us that for every problem there is a solution.

And all that we need to do is to think and find a solution.

Happy thinking all of you!
